Hot on the heels of the “jacket to phone sleeve” project, here is the next instalment of what to do with one’s old too big suede jacket… turn it into pretty key fobs that are easy to find in one’s cavernous handbag, even amongst the kiddy junk!
I ran these up in minutes; just a couple of strips of suede with pretty ribbon stitched down the middle then trimmed with pinking shears. Slip on a key ring thingamajig, overlap the raw ends and stitch down to make a circle. Slide the key ring connector into the right place and then stitch through both layers of the band to hold it in place. Job done! These things are now begging me to get to the spring fabric market ASAP and buy more funky ribbon.
